Transco Cargo - CSR

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is the term used to describe the way that a business takes into account the financial, environmental and social impacts of decisions and actions it is involved in. It is an increasingly important issue in business, as managers, consumers, investors and employees have begun to understand how economic growth is linked to social and environmental well-being.

At Transco, we take CSR seriously because we know how important it is to look after our community. We are proud of the work we have done so far and strive to do more with new projects focused on CSR.

Life Saving Sri Lanka

Our most recent CSR Efforts have been helping Life Saving Sri Lanka with new valuable lifesaving equipment. Working hand in hand with Life Saving Victoria (SLV), Transco International committed to send donations to Sri Lanka Life Saving on a regular basis. This was towards the goal of the betterment of the country, whereby such lifesaving equipment can be used for the safety of sea bathers, as well as in disaster relief activities, such as floods (which occur during the monsoon seasons in Sri Lanka). With the task force of the SLLS growing day-by-day, with more recruits and training programmes underway, the lifesaving equipment that was donated has been put to use training programmes with the Sri Lankan Navy and Coast Guard. Trainers of the SLLS were also able to utilise the lifesaving equipment donated by Transco International during an international training programme as well, in order to further our quality of rescue efforts. Donations of Life Saving Equipment and Tools such as Mooring Buoys, Ring Buoys, Life Jackets, Life Saving Tubes, Life Rafts/Boats, and Pool Noodles were made to Sri Lanka Life Saving via the Life Saving Victoria organisation.

School Project - Dedunupitiya Maha Vidyalaya

As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) we at Transco have identified a less fortunate school in a rural area of Sri Lanka called Dedunupitiya Maha Vidyalaya. This school is situated in the Sabaragamuwa province in Sri Lankan and did not have a suitable learning environment for its students. Various fund raising projects organised by us with the help of various profit & non-profit organisations both locally & internationally have helped us to build this school up to a higher standard with present day necessities such as a library, computer lab, auditorium facilities etc.

We at Transco continue to help this school and other societies and associations in order to play our part to make our environment a better place for all of us to live. Our endeavour is mainly to support with our expertise in the area of logistics.
