- direct services (where a single shipment is shipped), and
- charter services (where a single freight aeroplane is used for a single air freight delivery).
When you opt to air freight with Transco Cargo, the process involves contacting us for an air freight quote based on the weight and dimensions, whereby the air freight chargeable weight is calculated. On top of this, you may also need to account for the cost of duty and taxes based on the destination country and the cost of delivery.
You can either opt for Transco Cargo to collect your packed cargo (referred to as RFT-Ready for Transport) or have us assist you in the packing process. Thereafter, the cargo will then be sent to the airport to be processed, cleared through origin customs, and loaded on the plane for transport. If you are opting for consolidated freight, this process might take a few days to ensure that the plane it loaded with different consignments. On arrival at the destination airport, the cargo will then go through customs and cleared after the payment of duty and taxes. Thereafter the air freight cargo will be delivered to the destination address.
Air freight shipments have several restrictions which lists the likes of explosives, gases, flammable or radioactive items, toxic and infectious items, chemicals or other products which carry safety warnings, strong magnets, and any item that would be dangerous to public health are banned from shipments.
